Lost In Reflection. Wandering the financial district, nothing is recognizable, until I spied the mirrored 101 California Glass Tower of Evil. The one that looks like a rolled up newspaper, designed by Phillip Johnson. Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and the notorious self dealing Blackstone Group have offices in there. Also the sight of the terrible mass shooting in 1993 that prompted Dianne Feinstein’s gun control legislation. I remember when it was built, back in 1982. Before then, it was a rickety, old, brick, discount warehouse. Just about everything in there was a buck. Way before dollar stores. #sfhistory #financialdistrict #artphoto #photoart
