This is “That Boy”, porn legend Peter Berlin, on the left. He was the first porn actor to become a name brand in gay adult movies, back in the 70’s. Originally from Germany, he’s lived in San Francisco for decades. I still see him every now and then, in fact just last week near the Safeway in the Castro.
He still looks good, but rarely ever speaks to anyone in public. Once, about ten years ago, I was with a fellow photographer who was good friends with Peter, so I actually got to say hello and chat for two seconds. He asked me how I’ve been (we’re acquainted through mutual publishing contacts). I said I was getting bored with San Francisco.

Free Speech, or Vandalism?
Don’t know what to do? Where to go? No i-phone/pad/droid? The utility poles in the Castro and in other trendy districts are full of ideas. A few self appointed anal retentive nut cases tear them down and scrape the poles clean periodically, which wipes the slate clean for more club announcements.
