Ladies and Gentlemen we have a treat for you today! Our first guest post, from a new friend I made via Facebook. Gilmar Dantas, of Bahia, Brazil, is 20 years old, and reaching out to connect with gay people around the world. He was kind enough to share some pictures and words about Gay Pride in Bahia.

Gilmar Dantas — Thousands of Bahia and tourists filled the square of Campo Grande, Salvador, Sunday (9) XI to participate in the Gay Pride Parade in Bahia and LGBT Cultural Diversity Week.

Gilmar Dantes (continued) — The first to go was the trio Trio Journal which was attended by the sponsor of the event in 2012, Senator Marta Suplicy. According to information from the Grupo Gay da Bahia. sexologist and the senator was invited to play an important historical role in the cause of action LGBT.

Even with the long presence of several electric trios, the Gay Parade aims to broaden the discussion about LGBT causes raised by the public, as punishment for homophobic crimes and mainly respect.

Gilmar Dantas (continued):

“O preconceito sempre existiu, tanto no Brasil como em outras partes do mundo, mas temos que saber que somos todos seres humanos, por isso, temos que respeitar a sexualidade dos outros.”

The bias has always existed, both in Brazil and in other parts of the world, but we must know that we are all human beings, so we have to respect the sexuality of others.

The indefatigable Phatima was a regular guest performer at Trannyshack, held every Tuesday night at the STUD Bar in San Francisco.
