Trolling The Castro 8-1-13

After shooting my assignment for Edge Media at Sticky Wednesday @ The Cafe, I popped on over to 440 Castro for one of their $2 lite beer specials. This hot, delicious go go pulutang* is what I found.

His name is Esdli Pizban, and he was absolutely sweet and friendly and loved being photographed.

BTW, click on any of these pictures to see my gallery of 41 photos of Esdli and other encounters from that night.

Here’s Esdli giving a fun farewell to this couple, they were spending their last night in town before returning to New Zealand.

I stepped outside for a quick puff puff, and this handsome young man, Tony, was kind enough to join in and bat his eyelashes at me.

As did this brother and sister duo, who had been carrying on at Q-Bar’s Wednesday party “Booty Call“. Which one has more makeup on?

*Pulutang is Tagalog for late night snack.

So I’m working hard at editing my two assignments for this week: Sticky Wednesday @ The Cafe, and JockOFF Thursday @ The Powerhouse. Get your napkins and wet wipes ready, the pics will be up any minute now in the nightlife section of EdgeSanFrancisco.com. The outtakes will be posted here at Photojimsf.com after two weeks.

See the original assignment in the nightlife section of EdgeSanFrancisco.com. Below are my favorite outtakes, click on any one of them to see my gallery of over 100 more pictures of stripped go gos, bartenders, bar owners, dj’s, and Q-Bar patrons.

Dj Brian Maier is from Atlanta, GA, via La Playa where he worked with a group of dj’s known as the “Rocket Collective”.

John Bellemore, left, is one of the owners of Q-Bar SF, and the Edge Bar SF (not the same as Edge Media), and now the Midnight Sun.

This delicious bocadito dances at many of the clubs in the SF bay area, including Edge Bar SF, The Cafe, and at Club Papi Norcal events. Leave a comment if you know his name?

Flagging In The Park 6-9-13 Outtakes

Out takes from THE event I look forward to shooting the most: “Flagging In The Park”. A semi-monthly summertime pic nic and aerobics workout for fan dancers, flaggers, hoopers, poi spinners, and any and all forms of “flow” artistry. Click on any of the pictures to see my gallery of over 341 flagtastic photos from the June 9th, 2013 fun raiser. More info and links below…

The event is held in the National Aids Memorial Grove in Golden Gate Park, a spectacular meadow spread across the bottom of a small canyon, surrounded by redwoods and protected from the winds and the fog.

I like to think of it as a rave, except a slightly older, gayer crowd. Most of the attendees are veterans of the 80’s and 90’s club scene, when fanning and flagging played a prominent role.

The music was fantastic, this being my favorite track from an entire afternoon of delightful dance and house music from dj Steve Sherwood.

Dj Steve Sherwood (r) with his partner Paul Connolly.

Sister Mary Ralph.

Ira Olney and friend.

Angelic Sunrise.

Dan (L), with his partner Troy Boyd (r).

Xavier Caylor (r) organises this event four or five times a year, raising thousands of dollars for charities.

Gloss gal Suzan Revah (r).

Click here for the next Flagging In The Park July 27, 2013.

For more up to date info on this event and the flagging scene, check out Flagger Central.

Here’s a link to my original assignment, which appears in the nightlife section of EdgeSanFrancisco.com.
