Soft And Flattering
I first came to Thailand in 2005. I was immediately and pleasantly surprised at how outgoing and friendly people are. I mean, ok most likely they’re trying to sell you something, but the approach is usually soft and flattering.
Just Darling!
Back then, I was most often addressed as “chief”, which meant they figured out already I’m an American. Taxi touts, beach hawkers, food carts, black market music, movies, and porn, hookers, money boys ect. Once they figured out I’m gay, the titled became “dolling”. I assumed that meant darling. Still charming and flattering IMO. “Hey misstaa” was also used.
My New Title
Fast forward ten years later, I no longer have any hair on my head. A few more pounds, and saggy ones at that. My new title: “PA-PAAA”. My friends hate it, but I like it. It’s meant as a complement and not an insult.
See For Yourself
Here’s just a tiny sample of the beautiful people who’ve addressed me as “pa-paaa”, perhaps you can see for yourself why I not the least bit offended:
Happy Ending
After 10 years of happy visits, happy photo adventures, happy meals, happy times, and “happee endings”, I’ve earned that title. Hek at my age, I’m flattered at any attention I can get!
Thank You!
