David Bowie On Black Noise

I was a Dick Cavett watcher. I thought he was hip and cool and intellectual. He’d never make it in today’s late light three ring circus. Watch as he interviews a tweaky/edgy David Bowie. I thought it started a bit rough, and about to go south, but Dick manages to pull off an entertainingly funny interview as the two chat about hair color, photographer Diane Arbus, Angie and Zowie Bowie, Moon Unit Zappa, and “black noise”, a noise bomb weapon of mass destruction invented by the French…

The most poignant moment for me, was when David laughingly dismisses the idea of imagining himself a rock singer at the age of 60 or 70. — pjsf

Gay Marriage Equality Rights March in San Francisco!

Gay History Marches Right Up To My Front Door, (then keeps on going…)

Oh sometimes I’m so lucky living right on Market Street near the Castro.  Anytime something historic happens, a march goes right by my front door. And then it keeps on going.

I’ll probably never get married. Never say never, but if I do he’ll have to be a tramp like me. Still I’d like to see gay marriage made legal, it’s a matter of principle.

Here’s the first video shot on my brand new Ghetto PCS LG Motion smartphone! Hang in there it gets more interesting after the first minute or so when I dash down to join the march for a bit.

Here’s the blurb I posted on YouTube:

Published On March 25, 2013

From http://photojimsf.com — I had just stepped onto the balcony of the Luxury Viking Hotel, for a breath of, fresh air. Once again, history came marching right up to my front door, passed by and kept on going. The Supreme Court of the United States is hearing arguments tomorrow (3-26-13), but tonight thousands of giddy hopefuls staged a massive rally and march in support of marriage equality. I felt an upbeat exuberance not seen since the infamous “Winter of Love”, when Mayor Gavin Newsome issued over 4,000 marriage licenses to gay couples in 2008. A series of court battles and the hateful voter initiative prop 8 ensued. Most pundits expect equality to win.

Dame Edna vs. Joan Collins

Dame Edna has Joan Rivers in stitches, falling all over the desk, and so will you! Joan Rivers tries to throw a little shade, but is way outclassed by Edna’s hilarious but sharp humor.

Mr Gay Ireland has to date raised almost 130,000 euros for gay and HIV”This is the eighth year of our nationwide hunt for a positive role model, particularly for isolated rural young gay people and we have a first class winner in Robert” , said Executive Producer Brian Merriman. Robert and his colleagues faced a public vote, three interview rounds, a HIV fundraising challenge and a panel of five judges in a contest featuring clubwear, formalwear and top South African designer Bone Wear.

The contestants raised a record breaking, recession beating, total of 19,000 euros for the New Fill HIV service at St James Hospital, Dublin, described by Dr Dominic Rowley as ‘securing this vital service for another year’. Visiting President of Mr Gay Europe Tore Aasheim declared the Mr Gay Ireland as ‘the best competition of its kind worldwide’.

Mr Gay Ireland has to date raised almost 130,000 euros for gay and HIV charities and this year the contestants have been innovative in their efforts to support the New Fill HIV project at St James Hospital. Twenty three heats were held countrywide and we have entrants from 18 to 34 from Tyrone to Clare, to Kilkenny and Dublin, including a transsexual gay man, and contestants from Brazil and Canada amongst the top 16 selected from over 120 entrants. Tall, dark and handsome, Robert O Bara will now represent Ireland in the European championship in Prague and at Mr Gay World as part of Outgames 2013 in Antwerp.

Artists starring in this year’s Grand Final include Asian pop star ‘Baby M’ flown in from the Japan to star in the final alongside Irish TV star singer Peter Smith and boyband Level 5.
