So I’m editing my photo assignment from last night’s CHAOS at Beatbox, a monthly circuit romp and stomp full of hot, muscly, shirtless, frisky guys. Sounds like a grueling chore, huh?
I have my youtube watch later list on in the background, and this snappy tune catches my attention.
It’s a devotional hymn to Hanuman, one of the most popular Hindu deities. He is a monkey like humanoid, with superhuman strength, agility, courage, wisdom, knowledge, hope, and devotion.
What intrigues me most about Hanuman, is that he is celibate, AND worshipped by bodybuilders:

I snapped this on my way home from my photo assignment at CHAOS, Tristan Jaxx’s monthly romp n stomp at Beatbox in SF CA. The featured dj was Bryan Reyes, from Twist in South Beach and The Manor in Fort Liquordale. AND his legendary 9 hour set at Real Bad 2011.
DJ Tristan Jaxx put the commotion in motion. The sexy distractions of resident go go Cavin Knight and guest go go Chad Stewart had the daddy bears clamoring.
I experimented with a new DIY flash bounce card quick-fix slap-dash, and I’m super jazzed with the results. Which will be posted any minute now at EdgeSanFrancisco.com‘s nightlife section.
A great club for serious dance music lovers is DJ Tristan Jaxx’s monthly romp and stomp at Beatbox: “CHAOS”. Internationally famous himself, Tris features popular circuit party dj’s from around the globe.
I’m super excited to be shooting again at Chaos this Saturday, July 6 2013. The featured DJ is Bryan Reyes from Twist in Miami Beach. He’s been playing for over 20 years, with long stints at Boom and The Manor in Fort Lauderdale, and many balls, festivals, and circuit events including a legendary set at Real Bad 2011.

Featured guest DJ Big Kid is from Singapore and has an international superstar following.
I love the way he takes this dense pop song apart and pieces it back together into a much lighter and clearer big house remix.
I wonder if he caught me in his video, me snapping a picture of him?
The venue is Beatbox, a former car repair shop turned state of the art dance club. It boasts a huge wooden dance floor, laser lights, a mezzanine, and an oversized bar. And tons of hot, shirtless, muscly, frisky, guys. I caught a half a ton of them with my camera, as you can see. Click on any of the pictures to see my gallery of shirtless friskiness from the event.

I was lucky to catch a snap of Andy Cross as he was leaving CHAOS. Doesn’t he look happy? He had just won the Mr. S.F. Leather title earlier that evening. Since then, he went to Chicago to represent the Powerhouse Bar and San Francisco, winning the title of International Mr. Leather.

Why did I throw this picture in? Because I just love my picture taking assignments at Chaos. The music is always fantastic. I have a great time flirting with the cute guys, and Tris, Calvin, and Merredith are so nice to me.
Besides, this is on my way home from Chaos. It’s right next to the All Star Cafe at Van Ness and Market, my favorite late night Chinese donut and sandwich shop. The fried egg sandwich and the BLT on wheat are my favorites, and cheap, cheap, cheap!
I get to see it all. Any time anything happens, there’s a march, and it goes right by my front door here at the Luxury Viking Hotel in San Francisco, CA.
Since a small rag tag group started this march in 2004, it has taken place every year on the Friday before Gay Pride. This years was the biggest I’ve seen yet.
Here is a copy of the origional e mail that was sent out in 2004, and still represents this march’s purpose today:
“We are calling for this march to demonstrate that we are a significant and growing portion of the lgbtiq community; to increase our visibility and presence in the tgiqlb community and the overall community at large; to encourage more trans and gender-variant people to come out; to build connections among ftm, mtf, bayot, crossdressers, sadhin, hijra, transvestites, bantut, drag queens, drag kings, mahu, transsexuals, bakla, travesti, genderqueers, kathoey, two spirit, intersex and those with other labels for themselves and no labels for themselves, those who see gender as having more than two options, and those who live between the existing options; to support one another as a community, through all of our struggles; to speak out against violence, hate, transphobia, and the oppression of any and all of us under the existing social structure; and to be fabulous and powerful in the company of others that are fabulous and powerful.
Dress up, show up, bring signs, speak out, and be what happens!
